Editorial Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy explains how ShortlistMag chooses, writes and maintains its shortlists.
Independence
Placements on our shortlists cannot be bought. We do not accept payment, gifts or any other consideration in exchange for including, ranking or describing a product, and makers cannot pay to be added or to move up a list. Some outbound links may be affiliate links; they never influence which products appear or where they rank, and every product link goes to the maker’s own website.
How products are selected
For each category our editors review the leading products in the market, confirm that each one is actively available, and check its features, pricing and free-trial terms on the vendor’s own site. The shortlist is ordered by overall suitability for the category, taking into account capability, ease of use, value and reliability. We write about the products we include in a positive, practical voice because each one earned its place; anything that did not is left off rather than criticised.
Accuracy and updates
Pricing and features change often. Every article shows an “Updated” date, and shortlists are revisited as products evolve, new tools arrive and older ones are retired. If you spot something out of date, email david@shortlistmag.com and we will check it.
Submissions
Makers may suggest their product through the Submit a Product form. Submissions are read by the editors; they do not guarantee inclusion, a position or a timeline.
Corrections
We correct factual errors promptly and note material changes in the article. Contact us at david@shortlistmag.com.
